A Visit with the Gildners!

My brother, Ryan stopped here last night so we would have time to play with Paighton and Kyle before they headed back to Boston this morning. The kids had a ball with Ollie, and his face lit up when he woke up and saw them peering in his crib! Kyle wanted me to change Ollie's name to "Cutie" but preferred playing with Hogan. Paighton loved playing with him and even read him a book before his nap. Both Kyle and Paighton tried to trade the other for Hogan, but Daddy put a stop to that one!

Yeah for Aunt Tiffer!

Aunt Tiffer did not have school or work today so Ollie was super excited to see her when we got home. They giggled around on the floor and attempted to work on his crawling. His legs get in the correct position but just slide out. I know, I know, we should want to prolong the crawling as much as possible, but we can't help it!

Grandma Kamery!

Grandma Kamery stopped for a quick visit on her way home. Luckily, she was able to see him before he had his meltdown (a 20 min. afternoon nap'll do that!). What a lucky boy to get Grandma kisses!

We're almost there!

Progress is progress, right? We are still working on using a cup. He now at least chews on the mouth part, instead of the handle! We had a Mommy & Ollie day since we had a doctor's appointment at 11:30. I couldn't take a half day since it that was the only appointment available. Of course, I am not complaining!! Any day I get to stay home is a good day. (FYI: only 21 more school days left until I am home for 2 whole months!!). The good news is he does not have an ear infection. The bad news is she thinks he picked up a second cold and just had them back to back so that is why his nose has been running for about 2 weeks straight. Hopefully it will go away soon!

Allegany County or Bust...

My friend, Vanessa, got us this hat at my shower forever ago. Ollie and I were going through clothes this weekend and came upon this little find. The tag since 12-24 months (who makes sizes like that anyways??) Well, it actually fits perfectly. Daddy had a golf event today and since he was wearing brown we thought Ollie should wear brown. As you can see, add the hat and some jeans and he belongs right down in Allegany County! His roots are shining through, but he looks so much like my dad it's kind of scary. Too bad Daddy quit hunting (and can't quite fit into his camo coverall..) or they could have really been twins!

Clean-Up!

We are spending this weekend getting the pool/poolhouse/yard in order. It is quite the job!Luckily for me, William does most of it :) Ollie loves being outdoors, but is not a big fan of wearing his hat, even though it is so stinkin' cute. He likes to yank it off, but I was able to get a pic with it on, even though he twisted it. Some of you who have been..hmm, how shall I say this delicately...been around a while... may recognize the old school playpen (I don't think we can even call them that anymore, but whatever). It's square with mesh all around. Love it!! Friends of ours gave it to us and it works out quite nicely in the pool house. We are excited to have another day off tomorrow...hopefully we will be able to enjoy the hard work we did today!

Sleeping Beauty

Usually you can only see the back of Ollie's head when he sleeps. Since he was on his side, I thought I would sneak up and take a picture of the sleeping beauty. Since it is finally warm out, we got to wear these cool short pjs my friend Lindsey got us. Aren't they cute? I also put in a pic of the lilies my loving husband brought me. They just opened up..and make the dining room so much better!

Yumm-O!

It was a hot one here today! We are getting the pool ready, but can't wait to take a dip. Usually, Ollie is VERY interested in his dinner and prefers to have it in his mouth. As evidenced by this photo, apparently today was a day for play! Who knew peas and peaches could be so much fun?

Giggle-Pus!

My apologies for not posting the last two days, but our computer has been acting funny. Rather than get extremely frustrated with it, I chose to ignore the situation entirely :) Anyways....here is a short video of the little man giggling up a storm with Daddy and Hogan James. He sure is a riot these days....except for last night when he woke us up at 4:30 am!

Twins!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you...I am holding TWO babies! Today I was FINALLY able to visit my friend, Vanessa, and her 19 day old twins, Logan and Julia. Ollie was able to spend the day catching up with Daddy ( I had the camera so he could not take any pics!) and I spent some QT with Ollie's soon-to-be new friends. If your mind works like mine, then I am sure you are wondering how it all works with two babies. I have yet to wrap my mind around the idea, as it took two people for me to get into this position! Logan was squirmy, while Julia slept peacefully. They were so tiny (they just gained a pound and are in the 6 lb range) compared to Ollie, but perfect all the same!

How did I get here??

Ollie and I are patiently waiting for Daddy to get home. To keep us busy, we thought we would practice some crawling. We may need a tad bit more work in this area since he can only push himself backwards. If he wants something (as seen in pic #1) he will reach for it, but ends up pushing himself backwards instead of forwards! as a result, he usually ends up all over the place, not necessarily near anything he wanted. He hasn't figured out how to make everything work together. Sometimes he can get it (pic#2) and other times he throws a big hissy fit. In other news: He has a tooth starting to pop through!

When Daddy Is Away....We Will Play!!

Daddy usually does tubby time when he is here. Unfortunately, he is all business and the entire bathing process is about 5 minutes! Ollie only gets one toy and that's it. So....while he is away, Mommy gives the tubbies and check out all the toys!! He loved being able to actually play for a few minutes :) He apparently felt comfortable enough that he could leave a little present in the tub for me. It actually was kind of cute since it was the size of a nickle; and I mustn't tell a lie: I actually contemplated taking a picture (I didn't!). I know, I have some issues :)

Fun With Avery!

I had a function at school tonight and with Daddy and Aunt Tiffer gone, it put a little crimp in the plans. Luckily, Kelli volunteered to babysit! So, Ollie spent the afternoon with Avery. She said they had so much fun!

Bye-Bye Daddy

William is leaving for Arizona early tomorrow morning, so he got in a little extra play time with Ollie before bed tonight. He always does clever things, like pushing the jolly jumper while they count. Hogan wanted in on the action, too. He won't be home until Saturday night! Luckily, Ollie gets to spend tomorrow afternoon at his girlfriend's to take his mind off of it!

Good Buys!

On Saturday, Ollie and I decided to hit the neighborhood garage sale. Aunt Tiffer even went with us (this may sound normal, but Aunt Tiff only gets up at 9 am on a weekend for Ollie!). Daddy didn't go, mostly because he doesn't really "understand" garage sales. He doesn't know why we would go buy other people's "junk" and at some point always mutters something to the effect of "I don't belong here." (One sale at an elderly home selling used underwear and I'll never hear the end of it). So, needless to say it was much more fun without him. Aunt Tiffer and I picked out some fun new toys and books, including Gator Golf. We haven't decided yet who that is actually for...Ollie or Daddy! The car he is playing with in this picture was one of our good buys (after I washed and sanitized of course!)

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day! First, Ollie & Daddy made me breakfast in bed. Yum. Then I was able to take a 2 hour nap!! That's right, 2 hours! I haven't done that in a LLOOONNGG time!! While I was napping (& Ollie too!) Daddy cleaned the whole kitchen. When I woke up, I had this frame waiting for me with some valuable coupons (car wash, trip to the zoo, etc). I'm not sure if you can read the poem, but of course I cried. The picture is of Ollie Man's feet. Daddy even gave me a card for Macy's to go shopping! I took a picture of the inside of the card so you could see what a genius my child is-he can write already! :) I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day, too!
P.S. For those who know my friend Lynne, she had Andrew William yesterday at 11 pm. He was 7 lb. 6 oz.

Rockin' and a Rollin'

Ollie is still only moving around by rolling. He hasn't quite figured out how to make his legs go yet. He usually starts out sitting (picture #1) and then ends up rolling around to get what he wants. In picture #2 he noticed Hogie and was trying to get to him. I couldn't get the pic of him reaching for him after he made it around though.

Hide and Seek?

OK, don't judge me here, but my child really enjoys having his face covered up! I spent the first few months of life freaking out about SIDS and not letting anything in his crib only to discover that he actually falls asleep best when he can smash his face into the sheet! He only h as a lovey in his crib now, and often times it is on his face! It took me a little while to accept this. If he is snuggling with me in our bed he is the biggest bed hog because he wants my pillow to smash his face into! This is his blanket to roll around on on the floor. I came back in to check on him and this was what he was up to!

Aunt Tiffer Day!

Yesterday was Aunt Tiffer Day! Our sitter, Patti, was out of town for family reasons and Aunt Tiffer watched Ollie all day! This was their first all-day adventure. She even took pictures for the blog! How fun!

Puffs

We are starting to work on some independent eating skills. If you look closely, you will see the little puff in his right hand. Banana...yum. So far he would rather I just put it in his mouth, rather than feeding it to himself. He sure does love baby food, as you can tell my the squash/corn that is all over his face! Is it too early to tell is he will be right or left handed? He typically holds the spoon in his left hand? A sign, maybe?

Big Boy!

After today's post, many of you are going to think I am nuts. We went grocery shopping at Wegmans and Ollie was able to sit in the cart!! That's right, a big boy! You may be wondering why this is such a grand thing. Well, for someone like myself who happens to be vertically challenged, adding a car seat on top of the cart only leads to.....broken displays and angry workers (I will not go into detail as to how many times this has happened). So, needless to say I was thrilled with this new found "freedom." William, however, was a wee bit embarrassed that I took a picture in the parking lot. I believe I heard some type of mumbling that mentioned ridiculous?? I didn't see the problem, and I am quite sure Grandma Stuck would back me up!

BFFs

Ollie and I had a great day today (Daddy had a golf tournament), but we didn't take any pictures. We went and had breakfast with Daddy at the club before he teed off. Then, after a nice long nap (no idea how it happened, but I'll take it!) we went to a book sale (does anybody else remember Stone Soup?? I loved that book...and we snagged it for $0.50!) and to get some ice cream with Kelli and Avery. We played around for awhile on the floor...trying to strengthen those leg muscles for crawling! We were both so tuckered out that we took an afternoon nap together. Fantastic! These pics are from yesterday. Ollie LOVES Hogan. Hogan follows him around and is constantly near him. He normally is not allowed on Ollie's blanket, but this was too cute to reprimand him. :)

Got Beer?

By the looks of these pics, one would think I wasn't feeding him enough! I promise he ate cereal, peas, and apple/strawberry/bananas! He actually enjoys baby food enormously. Daddy, of course, thinks he obviously obtained the "Kamery" drinking genes.
