Oreos

We have been working with Ollie to take bites, rather than shove the entire morsel of food in his mouth. What perfect food to practice with.....an oreo! His first one! He actually was starting to understand what bite meant, as seen by the cookies all over his face!

Workin' a spoon!

Oliver is trying to become independent and do things on his own. He has been trying to feed himself with utensils. This typically doesn't end well since he isn't aware that there is often food still on his spoon. Here he is sharing some ice cream with Aunt Tiffer (before it ended up all over the front of him!) The bottom picture is for Aunt Nelly...she suggested wrapping some ice in a cloth for him to chew on, so it will help them come in faster. He liked it at first, until he whipped it across the room like everything else!

You say ball, I say bah..

Ollie is still adjusting to spending every day at Patti's. He only napped for about 20 minutes all day because he screamed and cried when he was there. Unfortunately for us that equates to one over-tired baby (AKA: a little cranky!). Luckily, Aunt Tiffer and Daddy could distract him with a favorite game: throwing the ball! He tries to say ball (and sometimes it actually comes out right!) but usually it is just bah. We also hung everything up on the walls in the playroom, so I thought you might like to see his name wall.

Stairs..

Happy Labor Day everyone! We had a nice relaxing day-didn't even make it out of our pjs! These pics are from yesterday, but I forgot to post them. The bottom one is him in his playroom. he likes to pull himself up on the gate and bang it. Ollie and I went to my friend, Barb's for dinner to give Daddy dome peace and quiet so he could rest. It was so fun! Their kitchen steps down into their family room and guess who figured out how to climb up the step! He LOVED it! Also, a little side note: I had him in just his diaper yesterday and I think the new carpet was too hard on his tummy to do his normal army crawl so he started crawling regular! Weird. Today he went back and forth between the two. Back to the grind tomorrow..wish us luck!

The Fair!

William is still recouping from his surgery, so I thought I would give him a little peace and quiet (Ollie has been up the last couple of nights crying and whining because of his teeth) and take my little guy to the Great NYS Fair! Personally, I LOVE the fair and have no idea how you could pass up such great fun! Fried dough, mashed potato sundaes, .25 chocolate milk, people watching, wine slushies, deep fried oreos, animals, butter sculpture....what's not to love?? My wonderful husband dutifully goes with me, but would prefer to pawn me off onto someone else. So Kelli and I decided to take the kids. We saw lots of animals (pic # 4..he is looking at ducks), rode a train (pics 2 & 3) and the carousel (pic #1). The best part of all?? Of the gazillion people at the fair today..my grandma was able to spot me and chase after me! So we got to see Grandma Stuck and Aunt Cheri & the boys! What a great day!

Oh, no..School Night!

We are still struggling with teething issues (come in already!) but maybe a little separation too! I head back to work tomorrow and both Ollie and I are having a hard time with the idea. One of his favorite things to do is look at books, so since he is cranky today because of his teeth we spent some extra time reading stories. Plus, you get a little peak of the playroom after he has trashed the place! He is having a Back to School Party tomorrow at Patti & Friends (glad someone is excited..) so hopefully he will be distracted all day! Now, what will distract me??

Playroom

I know it has been a long time since my last post, but it has been CRAZY here. We were finishing up the playroom over the weekend. It is totally done except for the pictures on the walls. We still have not gotten to that. Here is a pic of the new carpet and all of the space for the Ollie-Man to roam. He LOVES it, especially pulling out EVERY, SINGLE toy! It is so fun to watch him. I will try to get a video one of these days. Ok, another reason for not posting is because William had his tonsils out on Monday. So I am trying to help him and not freak out that I have to go back to work on Thurs. It is going to be hard on Ollie AND me! Once we get the pics up I will post more pics. Aunt Lynne will love to know that there is a gate so Hogan James is now on the outside lookin' in :)
