Visiting the Gildners!

We drove home yesterday to spend Easter with our families. We stopped at my brother, Jason's, so Ollie could play with his cousins. Here is a picture of him with Ben, who is a couple of months older than him. Papa was there too! Today we spent the day with Grandma Sally, but are awaiting the pictures from her (crazy, I know!).

Abs of Steel??

We are working on strengthening those ab muscles so Ollie can sit by himself without falling over. As you can see, we are not quite there yet. Especially troublesome is when he wants a particular toy and does a nose dive to get it!

Tubby Time!

Ollie is starting to feel more like himself again. Tonight was a tubby night, so I was able to snap a couple of pics of him playing with Daddy afterwards.

Big Boy Cup!

Since we are 6 months old now, I decided to bring out his big boy cup to investigate. He hasn't quite figured out what to do with it, but he likes to bang it around and chew on the handle or spout. Right now there is a little water in it, but we may switch to some juice next week!

6 months old today!

Since Ollie was still sick on Friday, I stayed home again with him. I could get use to a 2 day work week! We were suppose to go to Albany for my friend, Lynne's baby shower. After the vomiting on Friday night, I figured we would definitely be staying home. Ollie must have really wanted to show off his new outfit to Aunt Lynne because he started to perk up late Saturday morning. We decided to take him and hope for the best. He was still a little cranky, but definitely starting to feel better. Here is a pic of Ollie in his new outfit-Big Boy clothes since he is 6 months old today!! Where did half a year go?

A Small Setback...

Just when we thought the amoxicillin was working and things were getting back to normal.....we ended up taking Ollie back to the doctors last night. You will notice he is only in his diaper. This is because he had a fever of 103!! Needless to say, this new mom freaked a bit. When you can fry an egg on your child's skin, that is pretty scary! His initial ear infection is gone, but he now has one in the other ear! They are not sure why the amoxicillin didn't clear that one up, but put him on Augmentin instead. Apparently, this is a stronger antibiotic. We are hoping that it works and our poor baby can feel well again!

Amoxicillin to the Rescue!

I took Ollie to the doctor's office on Monday because he has had cold symptoms, a low fever, and really cranky. He ended up having an ear infection, which explained why he was pulling on his ears and why his nose was so runny. I stayed home with him on Monday and Tuesday while he recuperated. The amoxicillin has started to kick in and he is starting to act more like himself. During all of this, he started saying "da-da." He has been babbling for a while, but no real words actually made it out. Of course, Da-Da is thrilled that he said his name first!
